July 17, 1998 Last day community college students can apply for Fall 1998 Cooperative Program Registration
Aug. 16, 1998 Residence Halls open at 9:00 a.m.
Aug 16 21, 1998 New Student Orientation and Advising.
Aug. 18 21 1998 Registration for First time at FSU degree seeking students (Undergraduate) 8 a.m. 8 p.m.
  Registration for First time FSU degree seeking students (Graduate): 8 a.m. 8 p.m.
Aug. 21, 1998 Last day to file for change in residency status.
Aug. 21 27, 1998 Special Student Registration. Aug. 21, 1998 8 a.m. 8 p.m. Aug. 22 27, 1998 8 a.m. midnight New Special Students (main campus) will be assessed a one-time $l5.00 processing fee.
Aug. 22 27, 1998 State Employee Registration (for those using State Employee fee waivers)
  Florida National Guard Registration (for those using National Guard STEP waivers)
  Drop/Add , 8 a.m. midnight, Drop/Add ends at midnight, August 27, 1998.
Aug. 24, 1998 Classes Begin.
Aug. 24 28, 1998 Fee Payment at the Oglesby Union Ballroom 8:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m. each day; open until 6:00 p.m. on August 27.
  State Employee Fee Waiver Eligibility Form Due to the Office of the University Registrar. Contact your Personnel Office for pick up and approval dates.
Aug. 24 25, 1998 Late Registration ($100.00 late registration fee.)
Aug. 24 27, 1998 FAMU FSU Co-op Program Registration at the Office of the Registrar: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Aug. 25, 1998 Law School Classes Begin.
Aug. 27, 1998 Last day to Drop/Add and have fees adjusted . (Aug. 28 for Students are liable for all fees for courses still on Law School) their schedules at 12:00 midnight.
  Last day to add a course without academic deans permission.
Aug. 28, 1998 Fifth Day of Classes.
  Last day to cancel enrollment and have fees removed.
  Last day to pay tuition submit waivers, billings or deferment (except financial aid students) see below.
  Last day to pay fees without a $100 late fee .
Aug. 31, 1998 Financial Aid for Checks mailed to students local address. No in person distribution.
Sept. 2, 1998 Financial Aid funds EFTd to FSUCard accounts; funds available
Sept. 2 4, 1998 Financial Aid distribution for exceptions: exceptions for financial aid funds on hold; distribution at A1500 University Center , 8:30a.m. 5 p.m., according to posted schedule by students last name.
Sept. 4, 1998 Last day to Register for CLAST exam.
  Last day to file for Fall 1998 Graduation at the Office of the University Registrar.
  Last day to pay or defer tuition for financial aid recipients.
Sept. 7, 1998 Labor Day. No Classes.
Sept. 7 11, 1998 New Transfer Student Follow-up Session . First term transfers should make an individual follow-up appointment with their advisor to review schedules.
Sept. 18, 1998 End of Fourth Week of Classes .
  Last day to reduce course load without permission of academic dean.
  Dean s permission required to drop below twelve (12) semester hours.
  Last day to drop a course without receiving a grade.
  Last day to withdraw without receiving a grade.
  Last day to submit approved Gordon Rule contracts.
  Last day to submit form requesting S/U grading or to change S/U option back to regular grade.
Sept. 23, 1998 First time Borrower loans disbursed to FSUCard accounts and net checks mailed.
Oct. 2, 1998 Installment Contract Balance Due . No exceptions.
Oct. 3, 1998 CLAST exam given .
Oct. 12, 1998 Spring 1999 Directory of Classes available.
Oct. 14 20, 1998 Spring 1999 Upper Division Academic Advising for all currently enrolled and readmitted degree-seeking students.
Oct. 16, 1998 Last day to file to repeat a course under the Forgiveness Policy or to cancel such notice. No exceptions.
  Last day for first time enrolled students to withdraw from the University and receive a pro rata refund.
Oct. 21, 1998 Registration for Spring 1999 begins.
Oct. 26 30, 1998 Spring 1999 Lower Division Academic Advising for all currently enrolled and readmitted degree-seeking students.
Oct. 16 17, 1998 Homecoming: No classes after 1:10 p.m., Friday, November 16.
Nov. 11, 1998 Veteran s Day Holiday. No Classes.
Nov. 13, 1998 Last day to officially withdraw from school
Nov. 16, 1998 Official Thesis/ Dissertation manuscript approval deadline Fall semester 408 Westcott.
Nov. 17 19, 1998 Financial Aid Exit Interviews at Oglesby Union Ballroom : 9 a.m. 3:30 p.m.
Nov. 20, 1998 Financial Aid Deferments Expire . Full payment must be received to avoid a late payment.
  Last day community college students can apply for Spring 1999 Cooperative Program Registration .
Nov. 23, 1998 Official Thesis/Dissertation copies due to manuscript clearance advisor, 408 Westcott, for Fall Semester.
Nov. 26 27, 1998 Thanksgiving Day Holiday. No classes.
Dec. 2, 1998 Last day to turn in servscript verification forms.
Dec. 4, 1998 Last Day of Classes.
  Last day to reduce course load, if permitted, by the academic dean.
  Last day to apply for A. A. Certificate at the Office of Undergraduate Studies, A3400 University Center.
