June 15 – July 30, 1999 Registration for continuing and readmitted students: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. See
"Registration Windows and Admission Deadlines."
July 16, 1999 Last day community college students can apply for Fall 1999 Cooperative Program Registration.
Aug. 22, 1999 Residence Halls open at 9:00 a.m.
Aug. 22–27, 1999 New Student Orientation and Advising.
Aug. 24, 1999 Law School Classes Begin.
Aug. 24–27 1999 Registration for First time at FSU degree–seeking students (Undergraduate): 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Registration for First–time FSU degree–seeking students (Graduate): 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Aug. 27, 1999

Last day to file for change in residency status.

Aug. 27–Sept. 2, 1999 Special Student Registration (unless using State Employee fee waiver).
Aug. 27, 1999 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Aug. 28–Sept. 2, 1999 8 a.m. – midnight New Special Students (main campus) will be assessed a one-time $l5.00 processing fee.
Aug. 28–Sept. 2, 1999 State Employee Registration (for those using State Employee fee waivers) Florida National Guard Registration (for those using National Guard STEP waivers) Drop/Add, 8 a.m. – midnight, Drop/Add ends at midnight, September 2, 1999.
Aug. 30, 1999 Classes Begin.
Aug. 30–Sept. 3, 1999 Fee Payment at the Oglesby Union Ballroom 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. each day; open until 6:00 p.m. on September 2. Annual student parking decals are sold at the fee payment location.State Employee Fee Waiver Eligibility Form due to the Office of the University Registrar. Contact your Personnel Office for pick–up and approval dates.
Aug. 30–31, 1999 Late Registration. ($100.00 late registration fee.)
Aug. 30–Sept. 2, 1999 FAMU–FSU Co-op Program Registration at the Office of the Registrar: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sept. 2, 1999 Last day to Drop/Add and have fees adjusted.(Aug. 27 for Students
are liable for all fees for courses still on Law School) their schedules
at 12:00 midnight. Last day to add a course without academic dean’s permission.
Sept. 3, 1999 Last day to Register for CLAST exam.
Sept. 3, 1999 Fifth Day of Classes. Last day to cancel enrollment and have fees removed. Last day to pay tuition submit waivers, billings or deferment (except financial aid students)—see below. Last day to pay fees without a $100 late fee.
Sept. 6, 1999 Labor Day. No Classes.
Sept. 7, 1999 All Financial Aid students must call their administrative voice message at 1-888-378-2273 to retrieve information regarding the delivery of their financial aid awards.
Sept. 8–10, 1999 Financial Aid distribution for exceptions: exceptions for financial aid funds on hold; distribution at A1500 University Center, 8:30a.m.–5 p.m., according to posted schedule by student’s last name.
Sept. 10, 1999 Last day to file for Fall 1999 Graduation at the Office of the University Registrar. Last day to pay or defer tuition for financial aid recipients.
Sept. 13–17, 1999 New Transfer Student Follow-up Session. First term transfers should
make an individual follow-up appointment with their advisor to review schedules.
Sept. 24, 1999 End of Fourth Week of Classes. Last day to reduce course load
without permission of academic dean. Dean’s permission required to
drop below twelve (12) semester hours. Last day to drop a course
without receiving a grade. Last day to withdraw without receiving a grade. Last day to submit approved Gordon Rule contracts. Last day to submit form requesting S/U grading or to change S/U option back to regular grade.
Oct. 2, 1999 CLAST exam given.
Oct. 11, 1999 Spring 2000 Directory of Classes available.
Oct. 11–15, 1999 Spring 2000 Upper Division Academic Advising for all currently enrolled and readmitted degree-seeking students.
Oct. 15, 1999 Installment Contract Balance Due. No exceptions.
Oct. 15–16, 1999 Homecoming: No classes after 1:10 p.m., Friday, October 15.
Oct. 20, 1999 Registration for Spring 2000 begins.
Oct. 22, 1999 Last day to file to repeat a course under the Forgiveness Policy or to
cancel such notice. No exceptions. Last day for first–time enrolled students to withdraw from the University and receive a pro–rata refund.
Oct. 25–29, 1999 Spring 2000 Lower Division Academic Advising for all currently
enrolled and readmitted degree-seeking students. Nov. 11, 1999
Veteran’s Day Holiday. No Classes.
Nov. 15, 1999 Official Thesis/ Dissertation manuscript approval deadline for Fall
semester, 408 Westcott.
Nov. 16–18, 1999 Financial Aid Exit Interviews at Oglesby Union Ballroom: 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Nov. 19, 1999 Last day to officially withdraw from school Financial Aid Deferments Expire. Full payment must be received to avoid a late payment. Last day community college students can apply for Spring 2000 Cooperative Program Registration.
Nov. 22, 1999 Official Thesis/Dissertation copies due to manuscript clearance advisor for Fall semester, 408 Westcott.
Nov. 25–26, 1999 Thanksgiving Day Holiday. No classes.
Dec. 8, 1999 Last day to turn in servscript verification forms.
Dec. 10, 1999 Last Day of Classes. Last day to reduce course load, if permitted, by the academic dean. Last day to apply for A. A. Certificate at the Office of Undergraduate Studies, A3400 University Center.
Dec. 13–17, 1999 Final Examination Week.
Dec. 17, 1999 Semester Ends.
Dec. 18, 1999 Residence Halls close at noon. Diplomas dated this date. Commencement: Civic Center, 9 a.m.
Dec. 20–21, 1999 Registrar’s Office closed for grade processing.
