Spring 2005 ACADEMIC CALENDAR

Sept. 28, 2004 Spring 2005 Registration Guide available on FSU website http://registrar.fsu.edu.
Oct. 12 - Dec. 3, 2004 Registration for continuing and readmitted students: 8 a.m. - midnight. See "Registration Windows."
Oct. 22, 2004 Transfer Student Early Orientation
Registration - 2:30 p.m.
Dec. 1, 2004 - Jan. 21, 2005 Apply for Graduation Spring 2005 at Office of the University Registrar (A3900 UC).
Dec. 27, 2004 - Jan. 4, 2005 Registration for all new graduates: 8:00 a.m. - midnight.
Jan. 3, 2005 Residence Halls open at 9:00 a.m.
Jan. 3 - 19, 2005 Fee Payment at A1500 University Center 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday; open until 6:00 p.m. on January 11 and 19.
Jan. 4, 2005 Special Student Registration 2:30 p.m. - midnight.
New Student Orientation and Advising.
Registration for First-time at FSU degree-seeking students (Undergraduate): 2:30 p.m. - midnight.
Last day to file for change in residency status for Spring 2005.
Jan. 5, 2005 Classes Begin.
Late Registration ($100.00 late registration fee.)
Jan. 5 - 10, 2005 Drop/Add, 8 a.m. - midnight.
Drop/Add ends at midnight, Jan. 10, 2005.
Drop/Add, Law School, 8 a.m. - midnight.
Florida National Guard Registration(for those using National Guard waivers.)
Jan. 5 - 11, 2005 FAMU-FSU Co-op Program Registration at the Office of the Registrar.
National Guard Fee Waiver Eligibility Form Due to the Office of the University Registrar.
Jan 10, 2005 Law Classes Begin.
Last day to Drop/Add and have fees adjusted.
Students are liable for all fees for courses still on their schedules at midnight.
Last day to add a course without academic dean's permission. Changes beyond January 10 are subject to fee liability.
Jan. 11, 2005 Fifth Day of Classes.
Last day to cancel enrollment and have fees removed.
Last day to submit waivers, billings or veterans' deferment.
Registration for those using State Employee Fee Waivers, 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., A3900 UC.
Jan. 12 - 13, 2005 All financial aid students must check their financial aid status at http://www.studentsfirst.fsu.edu or call their administrative voice mail at (850) 644-0539.
Jan. 12 - 21, 2005 Academic Advising. Students should contact their academic advisor concerning earliest advising appointment available.
Jan. 14, 18, and 19, 2005 Financial Aid Distribution and Deferments for financial aid funds on hold, at A1500 University Center, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Jan. 17, 2005 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. No Classes. University Administrative Offices closed.
Jan. 19, 2005 Last day to pay or defer tuition for all students or receive a $100.00 late payment fee.
Jan. 21, 2005 Last day to file for Spring 2005 Graduation at the Office of the University Registrar, A3900 UC.
Last day to Register for CLAST exam, (850) 644-3181.
Jan. 28, 2005 End of Fourth Week of Classes.
Last day to submit form requesting S/U grading or to change S/U option back to regular grade.
Feb. 18, 2005 End of Seventh Week of Classes.
Last day to withdraw without grade liability.Last day to reduce course load without permission of academic dean. Dean's permission required to drop below twelve (12) semester hours.
Last day to drop a course without receiving a grade.
Installment Contract Balance Due. No exceptions.
Feb. 19, 2005 CLAST exam given.
Feb. 28, 2005 Summer and Fall 2005 Registration Guides available on FSU website http://registrar.fsu.edu.
Summer and Fall 2005 course listings available on Course Lookup system.
Last day community college students can apply for Summer 2005 Cooperative Program Registration.
Mar. 7 - 11, 2005 Spring Break.
Residence Halls close Mar. 5 at Noon.
Residence Halls reopen Mar. 13 at Noon.
Mar. 14, 2005 Registration for Summer and Fall 2005 begins.
Mar. 18, 2005 Financial Aid and Veterans' Deferments Expire.
Full tuition payment must be received to avoid a late payment fee.
Mar. 30, 2005 Last day to officially withdraw from school.
Apr. 1, 2005 Deadline for late drop with dean's permission.
Apr. 4, 2005 Official Thesis/Dissertation manuscript approval deadline Spring semester, 408 Westcott.
Apr. 11, 2005 Official Thesis/Dissertation copies due to manuscript clearance advisor, 408 Westcott, for Spring Semester.
Apr. 13, 2005 Deadline for Completion of Financial Aid Loan Exit Interviews via website at http://www.studentsfirst.fsu.edu.
Apr. 20, 2005 Last day to turn in Servscript verification forms.
Apr. 22, 2005 Last Day of Classes.
Last day to reduce course load, if permitted, by the academic dean.
Last day to apply for AA Certificate at the Office of Undergraduate Studies, A3400 University Center.
Apr. 25 - 29, 2005 Final Examination Week.
Apr. 29, 2005 Semester Ends.
Commencement: Civic Center, 7:30 p.m.
Apr. 30, 2005 Residence Halls close at noon.
Diplomas dated this date.
Commencement: Civic Center, 9 a.m.
May 3, 2005 Grades Due by 5 p.m.
May 5, 2005 Grades available on Student Access System (644-8888) and FSU Website.
