Certified Electronic Diploma

CeDiploma® FAQs

How do I access my CeDiploma?

You can access your CeDiploma through the student portal, which has a direct link to CeCredentialTrust, one of the University's third-party vendors.

I am not a recent graduate. Can I obtain an electronic copy of my diploma?

Currently, a CeDiploma is available only for FSU students who graduated on or after Summer 2017.

Can I download the CeDiploma and/or send it to other people through email?

Yes, you can download a digitally signed copy of your CeDiploma and email it to anyone you desire. It will retain the Adobe Digital Signature and CeDiD for validation purposes.

How do I know if I received a valid CeDiploma?

You can validate your electronic diploma by:

  • going to the validation page, or

  • clicking the link on the second page of the CeDiploma and typing the necessary information where indicated.

NOTE: If you are using Adobe Reader or Acrobat 9.0 or higher, you will be able to view the digital signature located at the top of the PDF. This signature is part of the overall security of the document. If the digital signature shows a Blue Ribbon, it means that document has not been tampered with; any other symbol signifies the document cannot be trusted.

IMPORTANT: Other PDF/digital readers and some mobile devices may not be able to show the Digital Signature/Blue Ribbon.

Why does the digital signature reflect CeCredential Trust?

CeCredential Trust is the branded name of the digital signature that FSU's vendor uses to digitally sign the CeDiploma.

When I pull up my CeDiploma on my iPhone/iPad, it only loads half way on the screen and then a line appears. What should I do?

Your tablet's operating system, or the PDF viewer that the browser is using to open the CeDiploma, determines what you see. In the case of the iPhone/iPad, updating to the most recent iOS operating system usually solves the problem.

The PDF isn't opening correctly in my browser. What can I do?

The CeDiploma is best viewed in Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader. Some features may not be available when viewed in a web browser's default viewer. Please change the default viewer in your web browser so that it utilizes Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

NOTE: Mac users should be aware that when viewing an official electronic credential from FSU, the software utilizes Adobe's secure, certified PDF technology. Therefore the certificate may only be viewed using the free version of Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat 9.0 or higher. The default Mac preview application will not display the document correctly.

I have a hold on my record: can I receive my CeDiploma?

Requests from current or former students with unmet obligations to the University (e.g., holds) cannot be honored. To resolve financial holds, contact Student Business Services.

What if I try to print my CeDiploma?

The CeDiploma has printing disabled so it cannot be printed. Your CeDiploma is official as long as it is digital.
