FAQ

Is there a charge for this program?

No. Adobe provides Acrobat Reader free of charge.

Do I need to download this program?

Not necessarily. You can still use your browser to view the HTML Web pages.

How do I view the General Bulletin after I download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader?

Return to the introduction page (General_Bulletin.htm) on the CD-ROM and click the General Bulletin PDF link located in the navigation column on the left side of the page. Adobe Reader loads and displays the General Bulletin.

Why would I want to view the PDF version?

The PDF version of the General Bulletin is identical to a printed version of the document. The PDF format is printer-friendly if you wish to print a single page or series of pages, and it includes page numbers. In addition, the PDF version has a detailed and interactive table of contents and index.

What if I have a problem downloading or installing Adobe Acrobat Reader?

Refer to the help and troubleshooting information provided on the Adobe Web site.

I want to find a specific reference in a section. Is there an easy way to do this?

Adobe Reader's Search command allows you to search the entire PDF document for a key word or term.

  1. Click the Search button on Acrobat Reader's tool bar (it looks like a pair of binoculars).
  2. Enter the key word or phrase you are seeking in the text box appearing at right.
  3. Using the additional check boxes, determine within what parameters you want your search to take place.
  4. Click the Search button to pull a list of all the references to your key word or phrase. They appear in the Results list box.
  5. Mouse over the page symbol to the left of each reference and the page number for it appears.
  6. Click the highlighted word contained in the reference, and the document jumps to the appropriate page.

Is PDF format compatible with assistive technologies such as text readers?

Limitations exist with certain assistive technologies when attempting to view PDF files. The Adobe Web site provides specific information addressing accessibility issues; please review this information (available online) if you have any concerns. If the PDF version is not compatible with your specific assistive technology, please view the HTML version of the General Bulletin.
