Searching by special program
The following example will lead you through a basic search for course listings associated with programs and offered during a specific year and term.
Sample search: You need to take an honor course but you are not sure area you wish to take in. You want to see a list of all available honors courses for Fall 2004. You are a main campus (Tallahassee) student and you want to see all offerings, regardless of whether they are currently open or not.
1. Skip the course field, leaving it blank.
2. Skip the department field, leaving it blank.
3. In the "Year - Term" field, select "Fall 2004" from the pull-down list. Note: the "Year - Term" pull-down menu lists several options. You may search for offerings in the future or the past, as needed.
4. The course location field defaults to "FSU Main Campus". Leave this as it appears. Note: if you are interested in offerings at other locations, click and select from the list.
5. Click on the pull-down menu under "Program (Optional)" and select "Honors" from the pull-down list of options. Click it.
Note: if you want to display course listings by prefix or department and you wish to omit any special programs or categories in which you may not be eligible to take classes, select 'Omit All Special Program Classes' in conjunction with a prefix or department.

6. Click in the box "Show Open Sections Only". This will remove the checkmark. By doing this, your query will return a list of all courses, whether or not they are have seats open. Note: this field automatically will carry the checkmark. Leaving this checkmark in the box will return only a list of classes with seats available. If all sections are closed, no courses will be displayed.
7. Your screen should look like Figure 1 (above). If it does not, make the necessary adjustments and then click the "Search" button. The result of your search will be similar to Figure 2 (below).
From this page, you may click on the section number of each course you are interested in to read the course description, obtain information about distance learning delivery methods (if appropriate for that section) and other general comments provided by the departments, i.e., honors only, majors only, fieldwork required, etc.
Clicking on the building abbreviation link will display a section of the campus map where the building is located.
