Searching for a class from the Course Requirements screen
Each of the courses listed in the basic requirements search (see Basic search for a requirement, Figure 2) are hyper-links. Clicking on any course will take you to a search screen similar to the Course Look Up function called the “Courses that Satisfy University Requirements Advanced Search” screen. From this page, you can select the year and term in which you are interested in taking the class to see if and when it is scheduled.
Sample Search: you are interested in taking ASH 1044 from the list above and want to see if it is offered in Fall 2001.
1. From the list of courses, click on "ASH 1044."
2. At the year field, click on the "down arrow" to select the year in which you plan to take this course, in this case 2001. Note: the course ID, ASH 1044, indicates the course you selected. The short title also is displayed and generally will indicate the course content. If you selected the wrong course, or determine that you are not interested in this course, click the “Back” button on the browser or the “Course Requirements Search Result” link at the bottom of the page to return to your search results. Clicking the “Course Requirement Search Screen” link from this page will allow you to begin a new search.
3. In the term field, click the "down arrow" to select the correct term, Fall, from the pull-down menu. You will see a page similar to Figure 1 below.
4. Adjust your search criteria, if necessary, and then click the search button.
Figure 1

You will see a screen similar to Figure 2 below. All sections of that course being offered for your selected year and term will be displayed. If the course is not being offered, you will see a message indicating that no classes meeting your search criteria were found.
Note: you may narrow the search of available course offerings by using the optional fields in any combination, e.g., location, start and end time. It is important to be aware that narrowing your search criteria may result in no courses meeting all the items. If you receive a message that no courses meeting this criteria are being offered, expand your search by eliminating some or all optional elements and run the search again.
Figure 2

From this screen, you may click on the section number of each course you are interested in to read the course description, obtain information about distance learning delivery methods (if appropriate for that section) and other general comments provided by the departments, i.e., honors only, majors only, fieldwork required, etc.
Clicking on the building abbreviation link will display a section of the campus map where the building is located.
