Graduation

The Graduation Section is responsible for processing graduation checks and graduation clearances for liberal studies, university wide and grade point average requirements for all undergraduate and graduate students. We also monitor the foreign language admission requirement.

The Graduation Office is located in the Office of the University Registrar, A3900 University Center.

The Graduation Ceremony will be held in the Donald L. Tucker/Leon County Civic Center is located at 505 West Pensacola Street.

Cap and Gown order dates

Summer 2012

  1. You may place your order at the Florida State Bookstore between June 4 and 5, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. A Herff Jones representative will be on-site to assist you with your orders for gowns, rings, announcements, etc.
  2. The Bookstore will accept online orders from June 6 through 22. The online order form is available at http://www.herffjones.com/college/fsu.
  3. There will be a late fee imposed on all orders received after June 22, 2012. Contact the FSU bookstore with questions regarding the cap and gown at (850) 644-2072.

Diploma Reorders

Diplomas are ordered every Friday.

You should receive it within two weeks of the order date.

To order a new or replacement diploma (size 11x14), you will need to send a written request (download the Diploma Request form as a pdf file here) with your signature and the following information:

  1. Your name the way you would like it printed on the diploma (If your name has changed and you would like the new name printed on the diploma, we will need proof of the name change in the form of a copy of your driver's license, marriage license, etc.)
  2. The last four digits of your social security number
  3. The semester and year of graduation and major/degree
  4. Your mailing address
  5. A $5.00 (per diploma) check or money order payable to Florida State University

To have your diploma certified with an Apostille:

  1. Send your original diploma or send a written reorder request (see above) with a $5.00 (per diploma) check or money order payable to Florida State University.
  2. Enclose a cover letter stating the name of the country in which the documents will be used, along with a $10.00 (per diploma) check or money order payable to the Department of State. The country name is needed in order to authenticate the document, whether by Certificate of Notarial Authority or Apostille. Please include a telephone number where you can be reached during normal business hours.
  3. FSU will notarize your diploma free of charge, and forward your notarized diploma and Apostille request to the Department of State. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the Department of State to mail the diploma and Apostille certification back to you.
